Summer 2006

Fire on the Mountain Bluegrass and Olde Tyme Festival

June 10-11 was the Fire on the Mountain Festival. It’s a fundraiser for Country Kids with Cancer, and this is the third year that we've been asked to be one of the performers. Joel took the day off Friday, so we had a nice drive over to Lake Vallecito. Wolf Creek Pass is beautiful and green this time of year. We always stop and hike up to Treasure Falls at the bottom of the pass. This trip, we had enough time to stop at another overlook also.

Most of the bands were there on Friday night, and the Howards prepared a dinner for us. There was dancing afterwards, and of course, jamming.

We had a great time performing, watching the other bands, catching up with old friends, and making new ones. We also had the opportunity to go hiking in the beautiful wilderness area.
