Summer Salad Serenade

We hosted the Summer Salad Serenade at our house at the end of June. A couple of family bands performed, including Eight By Two and The Wachtler Brothers. Someone talked Second Wind into doing a few numbers, though I’m not sure how. Several duos and solo singers also entertained and encouraged us with their songs. There was plenty of food, including Betsy’s popular cabbage-sausage soup. Halfway through the afternoon, it began thundering, and then raining. The sound system was quickly covered with plastic, and a surprising number of people squeezed under the food tent. After the rain, the sun came out, and the music continued.
