Stillwater

I was a child living happy and free

Beside the waters of the Stillwater stream

There was a man, lived all alone

Beside the waters that ever speak

His face was frail his hands were weak

But he lived as though a boy

Telling of God’s love

Bringing peace, turning sorrow into joy

CHORUS:

He leads me by the still waters

Where he leads me I will go

I’ll rest beside the still waters

Where the Lord restores my soul

He told the people that God would listen

And lead them if they’d follow near

His quiet voice was stronger than sadness

As he spoke these words that he held dear

   CHORUS

The old man died in the late summer

He was buried beside the waters he loved

On his gravestone these words were written

That told of his joy with the Father above

   CHORUS
